„The piece Zeitgemäße Betrachtungen explores the shifting relationship between Chronos (quantitative, measured time) and Kairos (qualitative, lived time), and the human experience caught in between.
The performance is structured around three sonic bodies:
Chronos — time measured by the ticking of the clocks.
Kairos — time as presence, represented by light-sensitive oscillators built in oyster shells, their tones modulated by the luminosity of the sky, changing as clouds pass by.
The human perspective — embodied by the no-input mixer, a fragile inner voice that processes and transforms both signals, creating feedback loops that resonate with its own contradictions.
The piece reflects a tension: the difficulty of contemplation in a world where technology constantly redirects attention. The mixer becomes a mirror of the self — an inside that consumes itself, stretched between longing and fragmentation.
As Douglas Rushkoff once said in a Yale lecture: ‘Time is more of a landscape than a piece of technology.’ My piece seeks to wander through that landscape — between the measured, the felt, and the elusive now.”
